In addition, Dr. Call is proud to offer nitrous oxide conscious sedation to his patients, to ensure that they remain comfortable during their visit with us. Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, can be administered to patients who suffer from dental anxiety. This gas is very safe and non-addictive, and is inhaled by the patient to leave him or her in a state of conscious relaxation for the duration the procedure. When used in conjunction with local anesthetic, nitrous sedation is highly effective in the reduction of anxiety.
Digital X-Ray
Steven R. Call, DDS is happy to have implemented an all-digital x-ray system in his new office. With digital x-rays, patients are subjected to up to 90 percent less radiation than with traditional x-rays. Furthermore, our digital x-ray machine stores results immediately on a computer, so they are always readily accessible and not subject to environmental harm, mishandling, or human error. Intraoral Cameras
With new intraoral cameras, it is now possible for you to see what the dentist sees when he looks into your mouth. The intraoral camera is an advanced diagnostic dental tool that allows the dentist to project images from your mouth onto a computer screen. This allows the dentist to see in greater detail the exact landscape of your mouth, and gives Dr. Call the ability to pinpoint any problems you may have. In addition to being a valuable diagnostic tool for dentists, the intraoral camera is an excellent way to educate patients on their own dental health. Furthermore, many patients note that when they are able to see what the dentist is doing in their mouth through the images projected by intraoral cameras, they feel less anxiety about their time spent in the dentist’s chair.
CEREC® 3D
CEREC® 3D is a remarkable innovation in restorative dentistry that allows Dr. Call to custom craft high-quality dental restorations right here in the office. In the past, many restorative dental procedures required that a patient come in to the office to be measured and to have his or her mouth prepared for the restoration, quite often under anesthesia. Then, the patient was sent home to wait while an off-site laboratory created restorations. Once this was complete, the patient returned to the office for more anesthesia and the final placement of his or her restoration. Now, Dr. Call can take a special mold of the patient’s mouth and enter it into the CEREC® 3D machine, which will customize crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays made from highly durable ceramic in less than one hour. Then, Dr. Call will fit, bond, and polish the perfectly-matched replacement, and the patient is ready to enjoy his or her healthy new smile!
